Crc 05046 tcleaner1/6/2024 For hinges and latches, as others have said that stuff gets everywhere especially when the dealer just sprays the stuff all over the place. For locks, only use stuff meant for locks like graphite or a graphite spray that won't freeze or gum up over time. I would never put White Lithium grease on any locks and will never again use it on hinges and latches. I detail my car regularly, so the white residue from the hinge lube in the door jams drives me nuts. But I'm still on the hunt for something transparent. I hit all of the latches and hinges about once a year. White Lithium Grease: I did a bunch of reading to find a good hinge lube for my car, and this was a very common suggestion. I pretty much use PTFE based lube like SuperLube for all general lube needs these days(It's safe for food handling machines too). No one who knows anything about cars thinks that. Sounds like WD-40 is a no-no when it comes to anything with rubber components yet some people think it's a good automotive lubricant. How do we keep rusty bolts from rusting again? I've got this dip (will update when I get home) that converts rust to something but without oiling or protecting the metal, corrosion just sets back in (tried it on an ice scraper before). > so best to use for lubricating locks, latches and hinges? To reduce friction and protect against rust, use white lithium grease. White lithium grease - easy to use, safe on any kind of metal and long lasting it doesn't splatter, melt, run, wash off or freeze. Can this be used on just about any bolt/ drain plug (fluids) that's prone to seizure? > I've been using these on lug nuts and rim rings (may affect torque reading/tightness). > So these are purely used on battery terminals? > So these can be used in anything electrical, including battery terminals? Dielectric grease -Besides being used to seal rubber covers on electrical connections, dielectric grease also prevents corrosion when applied directly to metal connectors.
